Eugene C. McBurney, MA, LLB
Co-Chairman
Eugene is co-Chairman of GMP Securities Europe LLP and co-founder of GMP Securities L.P.'s predecessor, Griffiths McBurney & Partners. He brings extensive knowledge, background and expertise in the securities industry to the firm. Prior to GMP, Gene practiced securities law and advised many companies and investment dealers in a variety of investment banking assignments.
Harris Fricker, MA
Co-Chairman
Harris joined GMP Securities in March 2002 as a Director in Investment Banking and now oversees Investment Banking for Toronto and Montreal. Harris also heads up GMP Europe's operations. He is a member of the GMP Securities’ Executive, Compensation, New Names and Capital Markets committees. Harris is able to tap into a rich pool of business experience including a successful stint as a Silicon Valley entrepreneur, heading up the Institutional Sales & Trading desk of another leading investment dealer and running the corporate debenture/derivatives group at a major Canadian bank. He remains very actively involved in day-to-day coverage of the industrial products and industrial technology sectors and consistently ranks in the top tier of both equity capital markets and M&A practitioners.
Simon Catt
Partner
Simon moved to London in 1998 from Sydney where he worked with Australian resources specialist broker Hartley Poynton. In 1998, Royal Bank of Canada added an Australian leg to its global mining group by buying a minority stake in Hartley Poynton. Simon became a Director of RBC and was the senior producer on the RBC London equity desk before leaving in March 2004. In June 2004, Simon helped establish the London office of a competitor. Simon joined GMP Europe in 2006.
